Data & Methodology

Trending data is polled directly from the official YouTube Data API v3 (videos.list with chart=mostPopular) on a recurring schedule, per country and category. Each poll is stored as a new, timestamped snapshot — history is never overwritten — which is what powers rank-change indicators, view deltas, and sparklines.
